Uncharted: The Lost Legacy – Honest Review

You know how Uncharted 4 felt like such a perfect, final goodbye? You close the book on Nathan Drake and feel totally satisfied. Then, The Lost Legacy comes along, and it’s like a small extra chapter. It’s nice to be back in that world, but it doesn’t quite capture the same magic, and it proves how much we really miss Nate.

This time, we follow Chloe Frazer (the fan-favorite treasure hunter) as she hunts for a legendary artifact, the Tusk of Ganesh, in India. To do it, she has to team up with Nadine Ross (the tough-as-nails mercenary leader from Uncharted 4). They don’t really trust each other, and they’re being hunted by a new villain who wants the Tusk.

The best part is definitely the relationship between Chloe and Nadine. Watching them slowly learn to work together is interesting, and they have some good conversations. Chloe is still as charming as ever, and it’s nice to see her in the lead. And you can’t deny the game is beautiful. The jungles and temples in India look just as amazing as everything in Uncharted 4, and the big open-world area where you drive the jeep is a nice idea.

Unfortunately, this is where it started to feel a bit boring for me. After the amazing pace of Uncharted 4, a lot of the gameplay here feels repetitive. It’s a lot of driving, climbing, and shooting in areas that start to feel the same. It just doesn’t have the same “wow” moments. Because it’s built on Uncharted 4, it uses all the same moves, but it doesn’t add anything new, so it can feel a little uninspired. The main bad guy is also pretty forgettable and not nearly as interesting as Rafe.

It’s a solid adventure, but it’s not a triumph. It feels like a spin-off that can’t quite get out of the shadow of the main game. It’s a good-looking, competent game that just doesn’t hit the same emotional or exciting notes as A Thief’s End. It’s fun, but not essential.

My Rating: 7/10. A decent adventure for hardcore fans.

If you just finished Uncharted 4 and are desperate for more, this might scratch that itch. But just be ready for an experience that feels smaller and a bit repetitive.
